Yoga for Healthy Weight Regulation

Yoga combines mindful movement, breathwork and relaxation to support physical activity, enhance body awareness and reduce stress. Research suggests that regular yoga practice may help promote healthier eating and activity habits, and can be associated with positive changes in physical and psychological wellbeing that support weight regulation goals when combined with other healthy habits.

Physical activity and exercise more broadly are central to healthy weight regulation and overall wellbeing. Regular activity supports cardiovascular health, muscle strength and energy balance, while NHS-aligned evidence shows that incorporating physical activity into daily life helps prevent and manage long-term conditions.

Together, these holistic practices can help people build resilience, strength, stress management and confident movement habits—all of which support sustainable, long-term wellbeing.
